MEETING WITH HON’BLE GOVERNOR REGARDING REGULATION OF PRIVATE UNIVERSITIES ON 24TH SEPT, 2021

On 24 September 2021, Shri Marnya Ete, IAS (Retired), Chairperson, APPEIRC, along with Shri Taba Tedir, Hon’ble Education Minister, met Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.), Hon’ble Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar.

The meeting focused on the proper monitoring and regulation of private universities in Arunachal Pradesh, with emphasis on maintaining academic standards and quality higher education in the State.

VISIT TO PROPOSED SITE OF KAMENG PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY, SUBU VILLAGE 11th Oct, 2021

On 11 October 2021, Hon’ble Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.), visited Subu village, Thrizino, West Kameng District, and inspected the proposed site of Kameng Professional and Technical University (KPTU).

The Hon’ble Governor was accompanied by Shri Marnya Ete, IAS (Retired), Chairperson, APPEIRC, along with other senior officials. During the visit, the Governor also interacted with local representatives and emphasized transparency, accountability and proper implementation of developmental initiatives.

APPEIRC DELEGATION CALLS ON HON'BLE GOVERNOR OF ARUNACHAL PRADESH

On 1st December 2021, an APPEIRC delegation led by Shri Marnya Ete, IAS (Retd.), Hon'ble Chairperson, along with Prof. Debabrata Das, Hon'ble Member, APPEIRC, Smti Niharika Rai, IAS, Secretary (Education) and Dr. A.K. Tripathy, Secretary, APPEIRC called on the Hon'ble Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.), at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar.

During the meeting, the delegation briefed the Hon'ble Governor on the functioning of APPEIRC, its statutory mandate under the Arunachal Pradesh Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Commission Act, 2017, and various matters relating to the regulation, monitoring, and quality assurance of private educational institutions in the State.

COURTESY CALL ON THE HON'BLE CHIEF MINISTER

Following the appointment of Dr. Limo Ete as Hon'ble Member, APPEIRC, Shri Tsering Naksang, Hon'ble Chairperson, APPEIRC and Dr. Limo Ete, Hon'ble Member, APPEIRC, paid a courtesy call on Shri Pema Khandu, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, on 26th September 2024.

During the meeting, they apprised the Hon'ble Chief Minister of the Commission's mandate, ongoing initiatives, and other matters concerning the regulation and development of private higher educational institutions in the State.

MAIDEN VICE-CHANCELLORS' CONFERENCE CONVENED BY HIS EXCELLENCY, THE GOVERNOR OF ARUNACHAL PRADESH

On 23rd October 2024, Shri Tsering Naksang, Hon'ble Chairperson, APPEIRC attended the first-ever Vice-Chancellors' Conference convened by Lt. Gen. K.T. Parnaik (Retd.), PVSM, UYSM, YSM, Hon’ble Governor of Arunachal Pradesh at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar.

The conference was attended by Shri P.D. Sona, Hon'ble Minister for Education, Shri Mutchu Mithi, Hon'ble Advisor to the Minister for Education, Shri Manish Kumar Gupta, IAS, Chief Secretary, Shri Amjad Tak, IAS, Commissioner (Education), Vice-Chancellors, heads of higher educational institutions, and senior Government officials.

The deliberations focused on the effective implementation of NEP 2020, quality enhancement, academic governance, technology integration, employability, and strengthening higher education in Arunachal Pradesh..

COURTESY MEETING WITH HIS EXCELLENCY, THE GOVERNOR OF ARUNACHAL PRADESH

On 19th March 2026, Shri Tsering Naksang, Hon'ble Chairperson, APPEIRC, accompanied by Dr. Limo Ete, Hon'ble Member, Dr. Joram Aniya, Hon'ble Member, and Dr. A.K. Tripathy, Secretary, APPEIRC, called on His Excellency Lt. Gen. K.T. Parnaik (Retd.), PVSM, UYSM, YSM, Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, at Lok Bhavan, Itanagar. The delegation briefed the Governor on the Commission's activities and key initiatives.

The Governor advised APPEIRC to ensure transparent and maintain strict quality control in accordance with UGC and State Government guidelines, and strengthen regulatory oversight to uphold academic standards in private higher educational institutions.

MEETING WITH HON'BLE MINISTER FOR EDUCATION ON QUALITY ENHANCEMENT AND NAAC ACCREDITATION

On 25th March 2025, Shri Tsering Naksang, Hon'ble Chairperson, APPEIRC accompanied by Dr. Limo Ete, Hon'ble Member, APPEIRC and Shri Chiken Riba, PA cum PRO, APPEIRC called on Shri P.D. Sona, Hon'ble Minister for Education, GoAP at the Civil Secretariat, Itanagar.

The meeting was attended by the Principals of St. Claret College, Ziro, St. Francis de Sales (SFS) College, Aalo and Don Bosco College, Itanagar. Discussions focused on strengthening quality initiatives, promoting NAAC accreditation, and enhancing academic standards in private colleges across Arunachal Pradesh.

COURTESY MEETING WITH HON'BLE CHIEF MINISTER FOLLOWING APPOINTMENT OF DR. JORAM ANIYA AS MEMBER, APPEIRC

On 12th July 2025, Dr. Joram Aniya, Hon'ble Member, APPEIRC, accompanied by Shri Tsering Naksang, Hon'ble Chairperson, APPEIRC, called on Shri Pema Khandu, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, following her appointment as Member of the Commission.

The meeting provided an opportunity to brief the Hon'ble Chief Minister on the Commission's activities and exchange views on matters concerning private higher education in Arunachal Pradesh.

APPEIRC SUBMITS PROGRESSIVE CLOSURE REPORT AND ANNUAL REPORT 2024–25 TO HON'BLE EDUCATION MINISTER

On 30th September 2025, an APPEIRC delegation led by Hon'ble Chairperson Shri Tsering Naksang, accompanied by Hon'ble Members Dr. Limo Ete and Dr. Joram Aniya, Secretary Dr. A.K. Tripathy, and Shri Chiken Riba, PA cum PRO, APPEIRC, met the Hon'ble Minister for Education, GoA.P, Shri P.D. Sona and submitted the Progressive Closure Report of the North East Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Itanagar, under the provisions of the Arunachal Pradesh Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Commission Act, 2017 (Act No. 4 of 2017).

The Commission apprised the Hon'ble Minister of the institution's non-compliance with statutory requirements and regulatory guidelines, as well as the absence of student enrolment during the last three consecutive academic years, which necessitated the initiation of the closure process.

During the meeting, the Commission also submitted its Annual Report 2024–25 to the Hon'ble Education Minister for onward placement before the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, in accordance with the provisions of the Act.

PRESENTATION OF APPEIRC ANNUAL REPORT TO THE HON'BLE GOVERNOR

On 3rd November 2025, Shri Tsering Naksang, Hon'ble Chairperson, APPEIRC accompanied by Dr. Limo Ete, Hon'ble Member-I, Dr. Joram Aniya, Hon'ble Member-II and Dr. A.K. Tripathy, Secretary, APPEIRC called on His Excellency Lt. Gen. K.T. Parnaik (Retd.), PVSM, UYSM, YSM, Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar, and presented the APPEIRC Annual Report (2024–25).

During the meeting, the Governor emphasized the importance of ensuring quality education, transparency, adherence to regulatory norms, skill-based learning and alignment of higher education with the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047. He also advised the Commission to strengthen quality assurance and promote academic excellence in private educational institutions across the State.
